  1. Why can't I arm my alarm system?
If the Ready light is ON, the system is ready for arming. If the Ready light is OFF, check to see that all doors and windows are closed and that motion is stopped in areas covered by motion detectors. The system cannot be armed unless the Ready light is ON indicating that all zones are closed and the system is in the Ready state. To see what zones are open, simply push the [#] button and the keypad displays a number. This is the number zone which is still open or active. Please call our office if you are still having a problem.

  2. I have a trouble light, what does that mean?
The control panel continuously monitors a number of possible trouble conditions (i.e. phone line, battery, etc.) If one of these trouble conditions occurs, the keypad will beep twice every 10 seconds until you press any key on the keypad. NOTE: A TROUBLE condition reduces the security your system is designed to provide. Call our office for service as soon as possible.

  3. How do I change the clock on my keypad?

  • To set the system time,
  • enter [*] [6] followed by the Master Code.
  • Press [1].
  • Enter the Time in Hours and Minutes using the 24-hr format (23:59).
  • Enter the Date in Months, Days and Years (MM DD YY).
  • Press [#] [#]

  4. How do I turn my chime feature off and on?
The door chime feature is used to provide a tone from the keypad each time a door or window is opened or closed. Your installer will program which doors and windows will activate the door chime.

Simply press and hold [chime] on your keypad and wait for chime to either appear or disappear from your keypad's screen. On models without a chime button, simply press [*] [4]. When the command is entered, the keypad buzzer will beep 3 times if the door chime feature is enabled and will sound one long beep if it is disabled.

  5. How can I add and delete codes?

If you do not feel comfortable programming your alarm system, contact our administrative office. Our operators are more than happy to remotely change pass codes for you.
The Master Code
To program the Master Code, enter [*] [5] current [Master Code] [40] [new Master Code]. The Master Code must be four digits long, unless otherwise indicated by your installer. Enter digits 0 through 9 only.
Press [#] to return to the Ready state.

Additional Codes
Up to 32 additional access codes (01 through 32) may be programmed.

To program a new code:
Enter [*] [5] [Master Code] [code number 01 to 32] [new access code].
The code number is a double digit from 01 to 32. Access codes must be four digits unless otherwise indicated by your installer. Enter digits 0 through 9 only. Press [#] to return to the Ready state. If an access code already exists for the code number you have selected, it will be replaced by the new code. Be sure to record your new code(s) on the "System Information" page in this book.

To erase a code:
Enter [*] [5] [Master Code] [code number 01 to 32] [*]. Press [#] to return to the Ready state.
The Master code cannot be erased.

IMPORTANT: You must contact our administrative office during business hours and notify them of any changes you have made to the system. Our monitoring station requires that your new codes to be on file in order to cancel alarms.

  6. How to I place my alarm on test?
A system is normally placed on test until a service technician can arrive on site. Simply call our office and our operators will place your system on test. If you are having problems with your alarm system, please contact our office immediately.

  7. I just installed high speed internet or voice over IP phone service.
Do I need to contact Omega?
The short answer to this question is yes. Alarm systems use your primary phone line to communicate with our central station. We need to know if anyone has interrupted / interfered with the phone lines in any way.

  8. I'm going on vacation, what do I need to do with my phone list?
Your phone list is a list of phone numbers which are called in the event of an alarm. If you are going to be out of town, it is a good idea to use phone numbers of family / friends still in the area. To change these numbers, simply call our administrative office. Our operators are more than happy to make those changes. It is always good to review your phone list at least once a year.

  9. I'm getting new windows and doors, what should I do first?
Contact our office and let us know when you are having work done on your home / business. Due to warranty issues, only Omega is authorized to work on the components of your alarm system. This includes taking down door and window sensors. Please let us know at least two weeks in advance of the scheduled day of work.
  10. How do I bypass a zone?
Start with the system in the Ready state. Enter [*] [1] [Zone(s) to be bypassed].
Enter the zone(s) as a 2-digit number from 01 to 32.
